Ebere Ifendu: A woman with vision and a strong sense of direction and purpose.

Ebere Ifendu is a leader in many fields and a passionate advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. As a widely respected woman, she is the first woman to be elected as the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Labour Party (NLP). She is a renowned Party Management Strategist and the President of Women in Politics Forum (WIPF), a non–partisan organization with a United Nations Economic and Social Council Status (ECOSOC). Women in Politics Forum (WIPF) is a multi-party forum for women which recognizes the marginalization of Nigerian women in politics, decision-making, and the importance of unity, regardless of party affiliation, to give a voice to women in Leadership.

Ebere’s motivation lies in knowing that her contributions toward women’s empowerment and political inclusion is yielding positive results, and her ability to support the less privileged in the society. She, again, showcases this side of her during the March 2022 nationwide #OccupyNASS protest where she joined Nigerian women to challenge the rejection of the passage of 5 gender bills by the National Assembly.WIPF is currently one of the 28 Women’s Rights Organizations benefitting from ActionAid Nigeria’s Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria (WVL-N) project. This project is fully funded by Global Affairs Canada.
