Funds Granted
The Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria (WVL-N) Project, funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by ActionAid Nigeria in Bauchi State, has reached over 1 million people across 116 communities in 18 LGAs, with a total expenditure of over ₦357 million. The project collaborates with one WRO Network (FOMWAN), three LWROs (ASHHF, FAWOYDI, FOMWAN), and 12 CBOs. Focusing on Women Economic Empowerment and Economic Justice, Women Political Participation and Leadership, and the Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence, the project has established 410 structures, including 365 village saving groups. Achievements include sensitizing over 212,000 women on GBV prevention, facilitating the passage of the VAPP Bill and Child Rights Act, empowering 10,115 women through VSLA schemes, and supporting women in political and leadership roles, resulting in seven women securing political appointments.
