The Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) Project

ActionAid Nigeria with funding from Global Affairs Canada, is implementing a five-year project – the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) Project from 2025 – 2029. The project’s goal is to increase enjoyment of human rights by women and girls in all their diversity and the advancement of gender equality in Nigeria. The project is designed in response to issues in the challenging environment in which Women’s Rights Networks and movements, operate. Through sustained technical and financial support, the RWVL Project will strengthen the ability of Women’s Rights Networks and Movements to develop and deliver inclusive, gender-transformative programmes; advance women and girls’ rights to opportunities and services; influence policy and legislation; and amplify the voices of women and girls. The project will contribute to national, regional, and global priorities related to the rights of Women and Girls.

Scope of the Call

This call is open to all women’s rights networks and movements with thematic focus in programming for Young feminist agenda, Female Inmates, Women Living with HIV, Media, Climate Justice, Research and Innovation, Women in Tech, Women in Business, Female Returnees and other vulnerable or marginalized groups. Networks and movements headquartered in any Nigerian State but influencing policies at National level with footprints across geopolitical zones are eligible to apply. 

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

As a Women’s Rights Network or Movement, your eligibility to work with the RWVL team means that:

1. You must be located in Nigeria and operating at national level.
2. You must be women-led with female majority in leadership positions.
3. Your mandate must include gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in their diversity.
4.  You must demonstrate expertise in one or more of these specialized areas: programming for  Young feminist agenda, Female Inmates, Women Living with HIV, Media, Climate Justice, Research and Innovation, Women in Tech, Women in Business, Female Returnees and other vulnerable or marginalized groups.
5. You should have a proven track record on advancing gender equality, women and girls’ rights, advancing gender justice and contributing to systemic change.
6. You should have the ability or willingness to collaborate with other networks, WROs or movements for collective action.
7. You should have the capacity to engage with relevant Stakeholders and advocate for policy reforms on women and girls’ rights.
8. You should demonstrate the capacity to influence women’s rights issues at national, regional and international levels.

Submission Requirements

All interested networks and movements should use the attached template to respond to the call. The completed template should be sent alongside an organizational profile with evidence of past and current efforts or projects.

Please Note:

• Only women-led networksand movements will be considered.
• Only one application per networkor movement will be considered.
• Applications that are not on the attached template will be disqualified.
• Only shortlisted networks and movements will be contacted due to the volume of applications received.
• AAN will not be responsible for any cost you may incur in the application process.

Total Annual Budget: Twelve Million Naira Only (N12,000,000.00)
