In Enugu State, the project collaborates with 3 LWROs and 12 CBOs, namely Women’s Aid Collective (WACOL), Women Information Network (WINET), and Women Empowerment and Peace Building Initiative (WEPBI). These 15 partners have implemented interventions across key thematic areas: addressing gender-based violence, women’s economic justice and empowerment, political participation, and peer education. Notable achievements include providing legal and psychosocial first aid services to 567,988 GBV survivors, training 1,873 women in income-generating skills, and mobilizing 991 women for voter registration. 709 women received grants and start-up materials for their businesses, while 1,873 women were trained in income-generating skills. The project has reached 898,578 individuals directly and 1,367,012 indirectly. Significant milestones include a proclamation by His Royal Highness, Igwe Ignatius Ugwu, banning female genital cutting, a testament to the project’s impactful advocacy and education efforts.
